Hyderabad: Nowadays, movies with aesthetic appeal are causing ripples across India, cutting across language barriers. We have seen how the Kannada film 'Kantara' is becoming a hit at the box office, luring cine-goers of all ages.
Now, the Malayalam movie 'Padavettu' is also leaping toward the same goal. The film with Nivin Pauly in the lead is drawing popular support.
The film is doing well in Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad with houseful shows. Film critics opine that this movie is also destined to soar like 'Kantara' did a few weeks ago. The film is doing good business in Kerala as well and the Keralites have embraced this film that depicts true-to-life politics like 'Kaithi', 'Karnan', and 'Asuran' did.
Likewise, audiences in other states have embraced the film, too. The movie is expected to have 'Houseful' boards on Monday and Tuesday.
The film, helmed by Liju Krishna, deals with the tale of the peasants of Maloor village. Nivin essays the role of a lazy youth, Koroth Ravi. Ravi's personality undergoes a massive change when he realises that if one has no specific idea, others will exploit him and make him part of their plans.
Along with Nivin Pauly, Shammi Thilakan has also received praise from the audience. Remya Suresh, Indrans, Dasan Kongadu, Sudheesh, Shine Tom Chacko, and Adithi Balan have performed well in 'Padavettu'. The music and background score by Govind Vasantha is also noteworthy.
