Pics: Dhanush begins shooting for 'Sir'; arrives in style. Take a look

Dhanush had announced his second Telugu film titled 'Sir' to be directed by Venky Atluri of 'Tholi Prema' and 'Rang De' fame. The film is being produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas in both Telugu and Tamil.

The two-time National Award-winning actor Dhanush will be seen alongside Samyuktha Menon in the film.

The project went on the floors formally with a pooja ceremony in Ramanaidu Studio, Hyderabad, on Monday in the presence of the cast, crew and other guests, including director Trivikram, K.L Narayana, M.L Kumar Chowdary, S. Radhakrishna (Chinababu), Suresh Chukkapalli, Narra Srinivas, and Mahendra (MD, Pragati Printers).

Dhanush looked stylish in a white shirt with a rudraksha mala around his neck.

The event was graced by S. Radhakrishna (Chinababu) of Haarika and Hassine Creations while the first clap of the film was given by Trivikram with Suresh Chukkapalli switching on the camera on an honorary note. The filmmakers said the film's principal shoot will start in Hyderabad on 5 January.

S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are bankrolling the project. The film's technical crew includes cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan (associated with projects like 'Soodhu Kavvum', 'Sethupathi', 'Thegidi', 'Mr. Local', 'Maara'), National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli, and music director G.V Prakash Kumar. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, and Narra Srinivas will be seen in supporting roles.

'Sir' ('Vaathi' in Tamil) is set amid a college backdrop and the visuals of the film as seen in the announcement video are filled with nostalgia. It has already caught the attention of many.
