Ponniyin Selvan-2: Makers announce the release date of the Mani Ratnam directorial

Hyderabad:Finally, the much-awaited announcement about a much-awaited film is here. The release date of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan -2 has been announced today. Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the production houses of the film took to their social media profiles to announce the date.
The Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and Chiyaan Vikram starrer is going to hit the screens on April 28, 2023. Alon with the release date, the makers released a teaser too. The new teaser gives a glimpse of Aditya Karikalan (Vikram), Arulmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi), and Vandhiyathevan (Karthi). Karikalan is seen enraged sitting in front of a Kali statue, while Arulmozhi is seen walking amidst many monks. On the other hand, looks like Vandhiyathevan is back to his adventures as he is seen with many wounds. Arulmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi) and Vandhiyathevan (Karthi) get drowned in the sea after a face-off with Pandiyas in the climax of the film and this is where the second part starts from now.
The first part of the film made Rs 500 crores at the box office not just in the country but worldwide. So now, expectations on the second part are very much high as audiences are eager an curious know what happens in the en when all the drama by Nandini unfolds the truth.
Mani Ratnam made this film based on Ponniyin Selvan… a ovel series of Kalki Krishnamoorthy, which was written about 70 years ago, Ponniyin Selvan tells the fictionalized story of Raja Raja Cholan and his ascension to the crown.
