Salaar has Shruti Haasan as the leading lady and this is her first-ever collaboration with Prabhas. The film is currently in progress and both Prabhas and Shruti have shot for their parts. Salaar is simultaneously being shot in Telugu and Kannada, but will hit the screens in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. This film will mark Prashanth's directorial debut in Telugu film industry. The film will see music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda. There's buzz that Salaar is a remake of Prashanth's 2014 film Ugramm, but Prashanth shot down the rumours.
Not many know that Salaar is an Urdu word and it means leader. It is said that when Prashanth penned the character, he had no one else than Prabhas.
Besides Salaar, Prabhas has Radhe Shyam in his kitty. Radhe Shyam is slated for release on July 30 and has Pooja Hegde as the leading lady. He has a Nag Ashwin directorial also in his kitty for which he is gonna pair up with Deepika Padukone. Amitabh Bachchan will be playing a key role in this pan India film. He also has Adipurudh with Om Raut to shoot for, in which he plays Lord Ram while Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana, aka Lankesh. Shooting for the latter two is yet to begin. Further details are awaited.
