Actor Pratik Gandhi rose to fame with Hansal Mehta's 'Scam 1992', the hit Sony LIV series. Pratik, who stole the hearts of many with his performance, is now making his Tollywood debut.
Director Mahi V. Raghav, who directed Mammootty starrer 'Yatra' – a biopic of former Chief Minister Y.S Rajasekhar Reddy, is set to direct another biopic, this time on Andhra Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Mahi has approached Pratik to play Jagan and it is being said that the actor has already given his nod.
According to a report, Mahi reportedly finalized on Pratik after an extensive search and research. It is also being said that the director roped in a Bollywood star because the biopic will be a pan-India film.
The narrative of the biopic will start before former CM and Jagan's father Rajasekhar Reddy's death. It will go on to show the evolution of the YSRCP, the challenges Jagan faced, and finally, how he came to power in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Pratik Gandhi will next be seen in the feature film 'Ravan Leela'. Directed by Hardik Gajjar and written by Shreyas Anil Lowlekar, the film is touted to be a "strong content-driven entertainer". Pen Studios, known for producing films such as 'Kahaani', 'Helicopter Eela', 'Namaste England', and The Accidental Prime Minister', has backed the project.
Mahi has made some good films and has made a name for himself. The Jagan biopic is something many are going to look forward to. More details on the project are awaited.
