Hyderabad: Actress Rashmika Mandanna is all set to be part of a Tamil film once again. The ‘Pushpa’ actress has signed a female-centric film titled ‘Rainbow’ and it was grandly launched in Hyderabad.

Dev Mohan will be playing the male lead in the film which will be directed by debutant Shantaruban. ‘Rainbow’ will be made as a bilingual film and will be bankrolled by S.R. Prakash Babu and S.R. Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

Since its inception, Dream Warrior Pictures has been known for its distinctive storylines and quality production values. With movies like ‘Khakee,’ ‘Khaidi,’ ‘Sulthan,’ and ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ (OOJ), the company has been making exceptional hits time and again.

K.M. Bhaskaran wields the camera while Justin Prabhakaran will score the music for ‘Rainbow’; both will surely be among the movie’s highlights. National Award-winning production designer Banglan is in charge of the production design.

“‘Rainbow’ will be a one of its kind of romantic fantasy story in Telugu cinema. You will see Rashmika’s most mature performance yet. The movie will tug your heartstrings and at the same time enthral you with its inventive storytelling,” said director Shantharuban.

Rashmika said, “For the first time, I am playing the protagonist where the story is shot from the girl’s perspective. I am so so excited to bring this character alive for all of you. ‘Rainbow’ is such a movie that will both entertain and excite you…the journey of the audience with the girl is going to be a crazy ride so bucket up all, this is going to be a fun ride.”

‘Rainbow’ commenced production with a formal pooja on Monday and the shooting will kick off on 7 April.
