Rana Daggubati opens up about on-screen, off-screen dynamics with uncle Venkatesh

Hyderabad: ‘Rana Naidu’ is one of the much-awaited web series from Netflix. Starring Venkatesh Daggubati and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles, the series will stream on the OTT giant from 10 March. Ahead of its release, Rana and Venkatesh revealed some interesting details about the series.

Rana Daggubati is super excited about this project as it is the first time he will be seen on screen with his uncle Venkatesh. Rana and Venkatesh, who portray a father and son duo in ‘Rana Naidu,’ said they explored a different dynamic in their relationship.

The ‘Baahubali’ actor explained: “I usually play characters that are either good or bad, but Rana is a mix of both. He lives a dark life but also works hard to support his family. Besides the name, I don’t have much in common with him. Rana in the show has a complex past and particularly deals with anger. It was challenging for me because I’m usually a chill person.”

Rana plays the role of a brooding fixer in the series which will stream on Netflix from 10 March. ‘Rana Naidu’ brings together superstar duo Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati on screen for the first time.

Rana said, “Luckily, my uncle and I have a great relationship off-screen, so it was fun to explore a different dynamic on set. We struggled with the profanity, but we focused on the time we got between action and cut to hone in on our characters. In that moment, it was only Rana vs Naga and all the rage they had between them.”

On the work front, Venkatesh Daggubati will be working with Sailesh Kolanu on ‘Saindhav.’
