Review: Are you a fan of Dhanush? Then Naane Varuvean is for you

Hyderabad: If you are a fan of Dhanush, then 'Naane Varuvean' is for you, and if you are yet to get over his performance in 'Thiru', then you will fall in love with him once again in 'Naane Varuvean'.

Directed by Selvaraghavan, this psychological thriller has amazing performances by Dhanush, Indhuja Ravichandran, Elli Avram, and Prabhu. Here is the review. Two identical twins—Kathir and Prabhu (both played by Dhanush)—are complete opposites. While Kathir is sadistic and "psycho" who even scares his parents, Prabhu is soft and organised.

Twenty years later, Prabhu is leading a happy life with his wife (Indhuja) and teenage daughter. Everything goes for a toss when he realises that his daughter is behaving in a strange way. She talks to an imaginary friend who tells her that her father will be killed. Is Kathir back from the wilderness? Will he spoil Prabhu's life?

Director Selvaraghavan is making a comeback after a long time with 'Naane Varuvean' and the film deserves all the attention and love. The film is scary, entertaining, and spine-chilling. All the credit goes to Dhanush for his acting; he has done an amazing job. As Kathir, Dhanush will give you chills. The director has focused on the story and he shows how and what can happen when toxic love enters your life. The interval twist is mind-blowing.

The film falters in the second half. The first half sets such high standards that you will expect the second half to keep up the pace. The screenplay could have been better. But on the whole, 'Naane Varuvean' is worth a watch.
