Hyderabad: Sankranti is the first festive season of the year when many films hit the screens and the Telugu film audience is excitedly waiting for the day. Every year, films of many A-list actors compete at the box office for Sankranti release and being a festive season, people love to watch films in the theatres.
From Tamil and Telugu languages, some big-budget films are slated for release this Sankranti. It is nothing less than a race where people are eagerly waiting to know who wins this time. But yes, for movie buffs, it is a festival of films.
Three films are releasing on Sankranti 2022, which falls in the month of January – 'RRR' on 7 January, 'Bheemla Nayak' on 12, and 'Radhe Shyam' on 14. There are also speculations that 'Valimai' will hit the screens during Sankranti, too. An official confirmation from the makers is awaited.
'RRR', directed by Rajamouli, stars Ram Charan Tej, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn, and Olivia Morris in the lead roles. Produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainments at a budget of whopping Rs. 350 crore, the film is set in the pre-Independence era with both lead actors playing freedom fighters. It is releasing in multiple languages and the filmmakers have planned promotions on a huge scale.
'Bheemla Nayak', directed by Sagar Chandra with dialogues and screenplay by Trivikram Srinivas, stars Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati, Nithya Menen, and Samyuktha. It is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum'. It is produced by Surya Devara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments.
'Radhe Shyam' stars Prabhas and Pooja Hegde and is directed by Radha Krishna Kumar of 'Jil' fame and produced by UV Creations. Set in Italy in the 80s, the film has Prabhas playing a palmist. The first single was released recently and had already won the hearts of many.
