Saif Ali Khan stabbed after he foils robbery attempt at his Mumbai residence, hospitalised

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured when he tried to foil a robbery attempt at his house in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to the reports, a robber barged into his residence at Bandra (west). A scuffle broke out and an unknown person allegedly stabbed him with a knife.

Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to the Lilavati Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

As per a statement by the hospital’s CEO, the actor was admitted with six injuries, with one of the injuries being very close to his spine. The extent of the damage is not known yet.

"There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation," said the actor's public relations representative said in a statement.

According to the Mumbai police, it is not clear yet, if he is stabbed or injured in the scuffle with the robber.

The Mumbai crime branch is conducting a parallel investigation into the incident.
