Hyderabad: After announcing that she suffered from myositis a few months ago, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is back on the set. She will co-star with Varun Dhawan in the Indian instalment of the Citadel universe, the Prime Video global event series, and the Russo Brothers' AGBO.

The show recently went on the floor in Mumbai, and shooting is happening briskly. Fans of Samantha are super happy that their favourite star is back to work. After completing this schedule, the unit will head to North India and international locales like Serbia and South Africa.

Samantha is awaiting the release of her next film, Shaakunthalam, directed by Gunasekhar. The film is to be out on February 17, but as per the sources, the makers are considering postponing the release as they are unavailable to get theatres in the Hindi market. Also, Samantha is yet to resume the shoot of her long-delayed film Kushi, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Shiva Nirvana. A fan asked Samantha to share an update on the Kushi movie, and she wrote, "Kushi will resume very soon .. my apologies to @TheDeverakonda fans."



Citadel is an Indian-based series created by the renowned creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), who also serve as showrunners and directors.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK will also serve as executive producers under their banner, D2R Films. The series is produced by D2R Films and Amazon Studios, with AGBO's Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil (Hunters) overseeing production on the Indian original and all series within the global Citadel universe.
