Why Bollywood actors failed to make impact in Tollywood

Hyderabad: Over the past few months, we have been seeing a bunch of Bollywood actors scoring big in Tollywood as well. Telugu heroes and directors have introduced so many Bollywood heroines to the audience. But after the tremendous success of movies like `Baahubaliā€™ and `RRRā€™, many Bollywood stars are coming forward to show their talent in Telugu as well.

For the Telugu film industry, everything has become before and after Baahubali. So let us take a look at those Bollywood actors who were part of the Telugu Film Industry (TFI) before Baahubali.

Many Bollywood actors have been part of superhit Tollywood movies in the past too.

Sanjeev Kumar:

Well-known actor and character artist in Bollywood, Sanjeev Kumar played the male lead in the 1974 movie `Urvashi' starring Sarada. Later he did not appear in Tollywood. He didn't have a decent market in Tollywood.

Amitabh Bachchan:

Big B also acted in some guest roles in a couple of Telugu films. Amitabh, who played a cameo in 2014 and released `Manamā€™ and `Sye Raa Narasimha Reddyā€™ starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, has a good market here as well. Whether nobody offered him a full-length role or he chose to stay away, nobody knows. But yes....he always had a good market here.

Mithun Chakraborty:

Mithun Chakraborty played the role of Swamiji in the movie `Gopala Gopalaā€™ but he failed to make a mark.

Sanjay Dutt:

Due to the longtime friendship between Sanjay Dutt and King Nagarjuna, he played the role of a mentally challenged person in `Chandralekhaā€™ in 1997. He didn't gain many markets then. Now he has a good market in Tollywood after his performance in 'KGF: Chapter 2'.

Arjan Bhajwa:

Arjun Bhajwa who changed his name to Deepak in Telugu starred in some super-hit Tollywood movies like Sampangi and Neethodu Kavali. He used to have a great market here but it came crashing down after a series of flops.

Jugal Hansraj:

Jugal Hansraj is a very popular child artist turned actor in Hindi. In 2005, Jugal Hansaraj acted in "Soggadu" starring Tarun. But his debut movie bombed at the box office.

Sachin Joshi:

Sachin Joshi used to remake Hindi movies in Telugu. But after facing so many back-to-back disasters, Sachin moved away from Telugu. Now, he doesn't have a decent market in Tollywood.

None of these actors succeeded in the Telugu market. The main reason for their failure is that they can neither speak nor learn Telugu. Many actors from Bollywood are making their debut in Tollywood in the next two years.

Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Saif Ali Khan, Bobby Deol, and many others are slowly making their way into Tollywood this year.
