'Sardar': Laila makes comeback after 16 years

Actress Laila, who took a break from films after marriage, is all set to make a comeback after 16 years.

Laila has been roped in to play a key role in Karthi's `Sardar' which is directed by PS Mithran.

A source has confirmed that Laila already shot for more than 15 days. She is playing a full-fledged role. Initially, Simran was roped in to play the role. Later Laila replaced her due to some circumstances. Simran is currently busy with other projects and she couldn't accommodate her call sheets for this role.

A still of Laila from the shooting is also circulating on social media. The picture features the actor at the beachside. The makers are yet to make an official announcement.

Laila's last Tamil film was Thirupathi in 2006. She had made a cameo in Ajay-starrer. The actress settled down in Mumbai after marriage. She later appeared in `Dance Jodi Dance Juniors' as a judge. She even made a guest appearance in `Gokulathil Seethai'.

Sardar has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan playing the leading ladies. Other artists include Yugi Sethu, Murali Sharma, and Munishkanth.

Produced by Prince Pictures, the film will have music by GV Prakash. Mithran's frequent collaborator George C Williams is in charge of Sardar's cinematography.
