Some of the Tamil films have missed theatrical release due to the pandemic. Others could not attract the audiences because the Tamil Nadu government allowed only 50% occupancy. Here are the three films that are going to stream on OTT soon.

Jagame Thandiram: This is one of the most-awaited Tamil films. Starring Dhanush and directed by Karthick Subbaraj, this film is an action thriller that has Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sanchana Natarajan as the leading ladies. The film was slated for release in April last year. But due to the pandemic, it never saw the light. There were a lot of rumors that the film has been sold to a popular OTT. The makers of the film have rejected the rumors and said the film will release in the theatres only. But recently, Netflix made it official that the film will stream on their platform. The film will now stream from June 18.

Karnan: Another Dhanush starrer which released in the theatres at the beginning of this month. It is a huge hit and has received a positive response from the audiences and critics. Karnan is directed by Mari Selvaraj and produced Kalaipuli S Thanu. Besides Dhanush, the film has Yogi Babu, Lal, Natarajan Subramaniam, Gouri G Kishan, Rajisha Vijayan and Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli. This film marks the debut of Rajisha in Tamil cinema. This film is all set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from May 9. Though an official confirmation is awaited, fans of Dhanush are super excited to watch the film. Many have missed watching it in the theatres as the Tamil Nadu government allowed only 50% of occupancy.

Tughlaq Durbar: This Vijay Sethupathi starrer has a huge star cast. The trailer of the film has gone viral for all the right reasons. This film is also skipping theatrical release. It will now release on Disney plus Hotstar in June. Actor Parthiban is playing a crucial role in the movie. Actress Raashi Khanna is paired up with Vijay Sethupathi for the second time. Actress Manjima Mohan is also said to be playing a major supporting role in this film. The film is backed by Lalit Kumar under his production banner Seven Screen Studio. On other hand, Vijay Sethupathi already has Kadaisi Vivasayi, Maamanithan, Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, Laabam, and few more OTT projects lined up for release.
