Exclusive: Struggle is the same and will always be, Director MVN Reddy on life post-Bimbisara success

Hyderabad: Kalyan Ram starrer Bimbisara, which was released in August, became one of the blockbusters of that month. It minted huge money at the box office. Directed by MVN Reddy, the film is currently streaming on OTT.

As per the latest reports, the director, who is known by his screen name Vashishta, recently met Rajinikanth. The superstar was all praises for Bimbisara.

"Rajinikanth sir watched Bimbisara. He called and congratulated me on the success. He loved the film. It is true that I narrated a storyline to him and he liked it too. He asked me to develop the storyline, and script and then come back to him. It is an out-and-out family entertainer that is perfect for Rajinikanth Sir," Reddy said.

Hero Nandamuri Balakrishna also praised MVN Reddy for making a Bimbisara. He said he would like to work with the young director. Asked if he is going to work with him, the director said: "Balakrishna is my dream hero. Any day, I am ready to work with him. I am working on a script for him and once he says yes, I will keep everything aside and start working with him."

Bimbisara has given Reddy the name, fame, and exposure for which he has been struggling for more than a decade. And especially when his debut film is such a big hit at the box office, one definitely believes that he would have been offered projects with big budgets. But this director has a different and unseen perspective.

"Bimbisara made things a little easier for me. It has given access to various things. But the struggle is the same and will always be. Making a film and that too a hit is not an easy thing every time. Also, no hero is free now. Everybody is busy for the next three years. Every actor is busy shooting and completing the films they committed to complete during the lockdown period," he said.

On the work front, he signed a couple of films with two production houses. He is working on the script. He even narrated a line for web series of UV Creations and is currently busy with Bimbisara 2. "Before starting anything else, I need to finish Bimbisara 2.

Kalyan sir is busy with the projects he has already committed to. Meanwhile, I will finish this script. Expectations are high already," he added.
