Tax evasion: IT raids Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, others in Kerala

Income Tax officials raided the offices and residences of Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and others on Thursday morning. Besides Prithviraj Sukumaran, leading producers Antony Perumbavur, Anto Joseph, and Listin Stephen were also raided.

All the raids are taking place in the Ernakulam district. IT sleuths did not seek help from the local police, which has raised many eyebrows.

The raids began around 7.45 am and continued beyond sunset.

Perumbavur, for a long, has been part and parcel of the growth of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and produces most of his films, while Joseph is the close aide of superstar Mammootty.

Earlier, several Tollywood personalities have been on the radar of the Income Tax department for tax evasion.
