TFDC announces contest for Telangana filmmakers on State festivals, history, governance

Hyderabad: The Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC), under the guidance of its Chairman D Dil Raju, has announced the Bathukamma Young Filmmakers Challenge to encourage young creative talent in the State.
Capturing essence of State’s rich heritage
The competition invites young filmmakers and artists to submit short films and video songs based on themes of Praja Palana (People’s Governance), Telangana festivals, history and culture.
The challenge aims to capture the essence of the State’s rich heritage and the progress under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s administration.
Submissions should focus on topics like:
Praja Palana initiatives and welfare schemes (e.g., Mahalakshmi scheme for free bus travel for women, Gruhajyoti, Indiramma housing, Young India Sports University and Young India Residential Schools).
Telangana history, culture, festivals and art forms.
Competition guidelines and prizes
- Short films should not exceed 3 minutes in length, and songs should be no longer than 5 minutes.
- Participants must be under 40 years of age.
- All submissions must be in 4K resolution.
- Videos must be created exclusively for this competition and should not have been previously showcased anywhere.
- All entries must adhere to the specified themes.
An expert jury will review the submissions and select the winners in various categories. The prizes are as follows:
- First Prize: Rs 3 lakh
Second Prize: Rs 2 lakh
Third Prize: Rs 1 lakh
Consolation prizes: Rs 20,000 each for five winners
All winners will also receive a certificate of appreciation and a memento.
