Hyderabad: Tamil actor Vijay Thalapathy's much-awaited Telugu debut film 'Vaarasudu' has completed shooting and is currently in the post-production phase. Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady.
'Vaarasudu' will release in the Tamil box office as 'Varisu'. It is produced by leading filmmakers Dil Raju and Shirish under their production house Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film's promotions will kick-start next month.
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the makers announced that the film will hit the screens on Sankranthi 2023. Sankranthi is the biggest festival in the Telugu states as well as in Tamil Nadu, so the makers are enthusiastic about capitalising on the festival season.
The film's first and second-look posters which presented Vijay in a classy look garnered a massive response. The title and the posters have set high expectations. The movie, billed to be a wholesome entertainer, features a stellar cast, including National Crush Rashmika Mandanna playing the leading lady.
Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha, and Samyuktha are the other prominent cast members.
'Vaarasudu' (Varisu) is being made on a lavish scale with grand production values and popular craftsmen are handling different departments. Vamshi Paidipally has penned the story of the movie in association with writers Hari and Ashishor Solomon.
S. Thaman has provided the soundtrack while Karthick Palani is the cinematographer and K.L Praveen is the editor. Sri Harshith Reddy and Sri Hanshitha are the co-producers of the film. Sunil Babu and Vaishnavi Reddy are the production designers.
