Hyderabad: Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu', helmed by Vamshi Paidipally, is one of the most anticipated Tollywood films that is going to hit the screens soon. Bankrolled by Dill Raju, the film marks Thalapathy Vijay's Telugu debut.

The movie is called 'Varasudu' in Telugu.

Billed as a family drama, 'Varisu' will revolve around a business tycoon who sets out to settle disputes among his family members. The film will hit the screens during Sankranthi and will clash with many Tamil films.

The hype surrounding this Vijay starrer is enormous and the film, which has been scheduled to release on Pongal 2023, has already turned out to be the talk in the trade circuits. This family entertainer is expected to set big records at the box office, and now, according to some reports, the film has bagged a whooping non-theatrical deal as well.

If reports are to be believed, 'Varisu' digital and satellite rights have already been sold for a whopping Rs. 150 crores. According to trusted reports, the digital streaming service Amazon Prime has bagged the digital rights of the film for Rs. 60 crores. Reports suggest that this is a new record for a Vijay movie.

Reportedly, 'Varisu' has fetched approximately Rs. 50 crores from satellite rights which have been bagged by Sun Network. Also, it is said that the audio rights of the film alone did a business of Rs. 10 crores.

The film's shooting is happening at a brisk pace in Chennai and Hyderabad. Apart from Vijay, the movie stars Rashmika Mandanna, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Jayasudha, Srikanth, and Yogi Babu.
