This is Aadi's third film this year and expectations on this action thriller have been high since the beginning. Directed by Shashikanth, the film is produced by Sridhar Reddy. Here is our review of the film:
Story
Siddharth (Meme Gopi) is a drug dealer from Mumbai and is on a mission to send drugs to Hyderabad. But once they reach Hyderabad, ACP Vikram (Shatru) gets hold of them. He's been waiting for Siddharth to make a mistake and it finally happens. Meanwhile, the bag of drugs is found in the car belonging to Arjun (Adi SaiKumar) who is a cab driver and has nothing to do with the crime. Thus starts Arjun's troubles. With goons chasing him, will Arjun manage to save himself and his family? What will he have to go through to save himself? You will have to watch the movie to find the answers.
Performances and technical aspects
Aadi, once again, has proved that he is good at choosing scripts that can entertain audiences. Though most of his films tanked at the box office, the scripts have always been bankable. He has done a good job in 'Top Gear.' Riya Suman, who plays Aadi's wife, does not get much screen time but manages to leave an impact on the audience. Aadi is known for performing good action sequences and in this film, too, he has done many such high-octane action sequences.
What works
The entire film happens in one night. So, there are quite a lot of action sequences that will give you a thrill. The performances of the star cast are watchable. Harshavarshan's music and the background score elevate the action. The camera work is impressive and the director has come up with a story that is thrilling.
What does not work
Some scenes follow no logic and they make you doubt if the cops are irresponsible and lack the skills to think. Also, cops can trace a vehicle or a mobile number in no time, but here, the cops don't even think about it!
Verdict
On the whole, if you can ignore these scenes, 'Top Gear' is a thriller worth watching this weekend.
