Hyderabad: On the occasion of World Hashtag Day 2021, social media giant Twitter has released the most used hashtags in the first half of the year. #Valimai, #master and #sarkaruvaaripaata made it to top three hashtags. Twitter's official handle tweeted, "What is #HashtagDay? Born on Twitter in 2007, today's the 14th anniversary of the hashtag. The hashtag has come to represent movements, fandoms and events happening in real-time. What's a favourite hashtag of yours that didn't make it to this year's list?" (sic)
They further added, "It's #HashtagDay so you know what that means! Here's the list of the most Tweeted hashtags in India in the first half of 2021." (sic)
And the hashtags are #valimai, #master, #sarkaruvaaripaata, #ajithkumar, #thalapathy65, #iheartawards, #rubinadilak, #bts, #covid19, #vakeelsaab
As per the data, #valimai and #master are the most-tweeted hashtags in the country from 1 January to 30 June this year, with Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Vijay's Thalapathy 65 (later titled as Beast), and actor Ajith Kumar's name also making it to the top five. Rubina Dilaik who won season 14 of Bigg Boss Hindi, Pawan Kalyan's Telugu film Vakeel Saab, and South Korean boy band BTS are some of the other hashtags in the top 10, along with #COVID19.
Hashtags definitely play the most important role for any tweet that has to go viral. Twitteratis have also come forward on this day to talk about the hashtags they have used the most and add a few more to the list Twitter has revealed.
