After carving out a niche name for himself, Varun is not sticking to a particular genre. Rather than picking only mass commercial movies, he is making a smart choice by doing distinctive films that have commercial viability. Varun Tej has signed some interesting projects.

The actor released a video announcing his new film, Varun Tej 13, but without disclosing many details. The sneak peek video shows the actor reading a script. A quote about bravery can be seen in the video which apparently hints at the character's valour. There is a delightful smile on Varun Tej's face in the end indicating his satisfaction with the script. He places a toy aircraft on the script in the end, and we can hear the sounds of a plane taking off. As the video suggests, the story is set against the backdrop of war and is based on true events.
