Watch: Chiyaan Vikram back on the big screen with 'Cobra', trailer out now

Hyderabad: It has been a long time since actor Chiyaan Vikram was last seen on the big screen. His last film that released in the theatres was 'Kandaram Kondan', and this was before the pandemic. During the pandemic, his film 'Mahaan' released on Amazon Prime and received amazing responses from viewers.

Now, after a long wait, Vikram's highly-anticipated action thriller film 'Cobra' directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu is set to release on 31 August. This is the third movie for the director who is known for making unconventional movies. S.S Lalit Kumar is producing the movie under the Seven Screen Studios banner, while the Telugu release will be through N.V Prasad's NVR Cinema. Just a few days before the release of the movie, the makers unveiled the theatrical trailer of the movie.

Vikram plays the titular character Cobra, a genius who breathes numbers every single second of his life and who can find a mathematical solution to every problem. Just like a cobra that sheds its skin and can hide and attack its enemies, Vikram's character also dons multiple avatars and commits crimes using mathematics.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan plays a cop who is on the hunt for the elusive Cobra. Srinidhi Shetty plays Vikram's love interest and Roshan Mathew appears in a negative role. Miya George, K.S Ravikumar, and Mrinalini Ravi are other prominent cast members.

Vibrant visuals and high-octane action sequences are the other big assets of the film besides Vikram's splendid show. The music is by AR Rahman and Harish Kannan is the cinematographer.

The movie will release in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
