Hyderabad: Finally, the much-awaited first glimpse of Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh's 'Liger' is out and it will give you an adrenaline rush. The filmmakers released the first glimpse of the film on Friday.
Vijay Deverakonda's two impactful dialogues are winning hearts. "We are Indians," he says and indeed he makes his entry wearing the Indian flag. The other dialogue, "Vaat lagaa denge", defines his aggressive attitude.
The visuals are packed with breathtaking stunt sequences. Vijay Deverakonda underwent a tremendous makeover for the film and the results are terrific. He looks like a beast with his chiselled physique and cornrows. He is stupendous as an MMA fighter and the character looks tailor-made for him.
Going by the teaser, the film is about a "slumdog" from the streets of Mumbai and his journey to become an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) champion. There is a fire in Vijay's punches. We can feel the adrenaline rush just in the glimpse and we can only assume the kind of high the movie will give. The cinematography and background score is in sync to give us a whole new experience.
Ramya Krishna will play Vijay's mother while Ronit Roy will be his coach.
Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta are bankrolling the film. Vishnu Sarma is the cinematographer while Kecha from Thailand is the stunt director.
The film is being made in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It will release in theatres worldwide on 25 August 2022.
