'Witness' to 'Roy': Here are 8 new movies releasing on OTT this week

Hyderabad: Many movies are getting released on OTT platforms every week. Even the audience is also showing more interest in watching films on OTT platforms. On December 9, seven interesting movies are releasing on OTT platforms

Here are eight new movies releasing on OTT this week.

Witness:

Starring Shraddha Srinath and Rohini in lead roles, the film is based on manual scavenging which has been one of the most inhuman practices that are still prevalent in our society. Despite several measures and policies in place, this practice continues to claim the lives of poor workers every year. Based on this issue, Sony LIV presents WITNESS, a story of a 20-year-old boy `Parthiban' who dies after manually cleaning a residential apartment's septic tank. Post his death, Indirani, his mother goes to all lengths to fight for justice for her son. Will she succeed? The film answers it all!

Macharla Niyojakavargam:

Featuring Nithiin, Kriti Shetty, and Catherine Teresa in the lead roles, directed by MS Rajasekhar Reddy, 'Macharla Niyojakavargam' is a political drama that didn't work out well at the box office. The story revolves around a person who is awaiting to receive his posting as an IAS officer in his village. Samuthirakani, Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, etc played key roles in the movie.

Urvashivo Rakshasivo:

Allu Sirish recently joined hands with director Rakesh Shashii and came up with a romantic comedy `Urvashivo Rakshasivo'. The movie revolves around a person who falls in a love with a girl who doesn't want to marry. Sunil, Vennela Kishore, Anish Kuruvilla, and Posani Krishna Murali played prominent roles in this movie which will give us a hilarious and emotional ride.

Taapsee Pannu who never fails to impress the audience with her content-oriented films joined hands with Gulshan Devaiah and came up with a Hindi horror thriller directed by Ajay Bahl. Touted to be the remake of the Spanish film 'Julie's Eyes', Taapsee herself marked her production debut with this movie. The story revolves around a woman who slowly loses her eyesight while she is trying to investigate her sister's death.

Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, the documentary portrays the lives of Bomman and Bellie who bring an orphan elephant Raghu to their home. It showcases how their new addition to the family changed their lives. It is a beautiful and emotional drama with some rural landscapes of Tamil Nadu. It is streaming on Netflix.

Here comes another Malayalam crime thriller starring Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sija Rose, and Shine Tom Chackco. Titled 'Roy', the film revolves around a journalist who goes missing and how her husband tries to investigate and find some disturbing truths.
