Yogi re-release hungama: Excited Prabhas’ fans damage theatre during screening

Hyderabad: Prabhas’ Telugu film Yogi, released in 2007, recently underwent a 4K re-release in theatres. A video of enthusiastic fans dancing inside G3 Raj Yuvraj Theatre in Nandyla, Andhra Pradesh, celebrating the re-release went viral. But unfortunately, the screen was damaged due to their uncontained excitement.

The movie starred Nayanthara alongside Prabhas and was directed by VV Vinayak. It’s an action drama featuring actors like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ali, Subbaraju, Pradeep Rawat, and Sharada.

In more news about the action star, Prabhas’ previous film, Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, faced criticism for its controversial dialogues upon release. In response, the creators revised the lines.

The All India Cine Workers Association wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Mumbai Police, urging legal measures against the film’s producer, director, and writer. Prabhas’ next venture is Salaar, where he will share the screen with Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The first part - Salaar Part-1: Ceasefire - is set to release on September 28 in five languages: Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. Directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. Additionally, Prabhas is part of the sci-fi action film Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is a futuristic tale set in 2898 AD, combining sci-fi elements with captivating storytelling. Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled to premiere on January 12, 2024.
