By Sreenivasa Rao Dasari Published on 30 Aug 2019 12:21 PM ISTSrikakulam: Ex-government whip, Kuna Ravi Kumar and leader, A.Rambabu are both still at large as police launch a massive search to arrest the two. TD leaders are working to garner public sympathy by politicizing the issue and painting it as harassment due to a political vendetta. TD MLAs, K.Atchannaidu, B.Ashok and party leaders and former MLAs, B.Ramanamurthy, G.Laxmidevi visited K.RaviKumarās house in Srikakulam on Thursday and termed the police case as political harassment and supported K.RaviKumarās vulgar comments against public servants. They have found fault with the police and ruling party leaders for conducting a search of RaviKumarās house on Wednesday night.
According to police, after registering the case K.RaviKumar left his residence. They are now requesting him to surrender before the police. TD leaders condemned the case against Ravikumar and planned to a file petition with the state human rights commission against the police action. But the police are standing by their actions, as they have a right to search the accused's residence under the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C.).
TD leaders also warned officials who lodged complaints with the police against Ravikumar and termed them as "dummies who are tools in the hands of YSRCP leaders." The ten TDP surrendered leaders were produced before the judicial magistrate in this case and have been remanded for 14 days.
