Excise raid: 22 women held at TOT pub, Jubilee hills for 'obscene' dance
By Newsmeter Network
The police and Excise officials raided TOT pub at upscale Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad on Sunday night and found that obscene dances were being arranged by the management. Over a hundred customers were sent out of the premises, while the police rescued 22 female dancers.
Sources said the raid followed a tip about sleazy dances being performed at the pub on Road No. 10. As the cops entered the premises, the pub staff, including the manager, fled from there, they said.
Inquiries revealed that the women belonged to different cities across the country and had been hired on a monthly basis. While a few of them had been working for the pub for the past few months, some had joined just recently. The pub was in operation for the past few years
The Jubilee Hills police have registered cases under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. Excise sleuths have also registered a case and seized the alcohol at the pub. A joint probe by the police and Excise has begun.
