In the viral post, it is claimed that the challenge took place at Dubai airport. It is hogging the headlines of international media. A few Indian media portals like NDTV, Amar Ujala, and Times Travel also reported it.

The 20 kg gold bar challenge is not a new trend. You might have come across such Gold bar challenges multiple times while scrolling down the internet. The big question here is whether it took place at Dubai Airport or not.

Fact Check

NewsMeter ran a keyword search to find reports from credible sources. We found a media report on Gulf News clarifying that no such event or challenge took place at the airport.

A Dubai Airport spokesperson has also been quoted in the report saying, "Dubai Airports can confirm that this installation is not currently, nor has been in the past, positioned at either of our airports (Dubai International and Dubai World Central)."

For further confirmation, we scanned the internet for another international media report. We found another report by The Arabian Stories which refuted the rumours.

Hence it is evident that the challenge was never organized at Dubai Airport.
