Hyderabad: In February 2025, Samay Raina’s comedy show ‘India's Got Latent’ became mired in controversy due to remarks made by guest judge Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps. During an episode, Allahbadia posed an explicit question to a contestant, which led to widespread public outrage and multiple police complaints.
A video of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is now being linked to India’s Got Latent controversy.
The text overlaid on the video reads, “Aamir Khan indirectly talked about India’s Got Latent show and Ranveer Allahbadia.”
In the clip, shared by an Instagram user, Aamir Khan can be heard saying, “Commenting on someone’s colour or sexuality and turning it into a joke—if you expect me to laugh along, I won’t. Personally, I have an issue with what they have done. That is why I have not watched the show—because this is not the kind of content I want to see.” (Archive)
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. In the video, Aamir Khan was criticising the AIB Roast show in 2015.
A reverse image search of the video’s keyframes led to an over-six-minute video published by the verified YouTube channel Bollywood Life on February 10, 2015, titled ‘Aamir Khan Disgusted with AIB Knockout Roast of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.’
Khan described the AIB Knockout Roast as a violent show and explained his reasoning. The viral clip begins at 2:32 minutes and ends at 2:54.
We also found over a 30-minute video published by another verified YouTube channel Movie Talkies, dated February 11, 2015, titled, ‘Aamir Khan AIB Roast Speech.’ In this video, the viral clip begins at 2:28 and ends at the 2:50 mark.
According to an NDTV report from February 11, 2015, Aamir Khan spoke to the press at an event in Mumbai, openly criticising his friends. He revealed that he had scolded Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor after hearing the explicit language used in the roast. Aamir expressed that he was ‘deeply affected’ by the content and described the event—which had a 4,000-strong audience and garnered over 8 million views on YouTube before AIB removed it—as ‘a very violent event.’
The report also quoted Khan as saying, “I am not 14 years old and have crossed the age where uttering 25 abuses would impress me.”
Therefore, we conclude that the viral clip shows Aamir Khan’s criticism of the AIB Knockout Roast in 2015, not India’s Got Latent. The claim is false.
