Fact Check: Actor Sai Pallavi and Rajkumar Periasamy’s marriage rumor is fake

Hyderabad: An image of actress Sai Pallavi and Rajakumar Periasamy wearing garland has ignited wedding rumours across social media platforms.

Sai Pallavi is a highly respected and talented actress in South Indian cinema. Her natural beauty, graceful dancing skills, and versatile acting abilities have made her a beloved figure among numerous fans. The post has gone viral with the caption, 'Finally, She got Married And She Prove That Love Has No Colour..Hats off Sai Pallavi'.

NewsMeter found the claim false as the viral image is from her upcoming film SK21 launch event.

Through a keyword search, we found a tweet by an X user Christopher Kanagaraj, who is apparently a movie follower in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, English, Telugu and Kannada stating that the image is from ‘SK21 Poojai’ not from her secret marriage.

Taking a cue from this, further search led us to a YouTube video of the SK 21 movie Pooja ceremony which Sai Pallavi recently signed up for on a YouTube channel 'Lovle Telugu ' dated 6th May 2023. In the video, you can see Sai Pallavi and Rajkumar wearing the same outfit as in the viral image.

The description of the video read, '#SK21 Movie Pooja Ceremony | Sivakarthikeyan | Sai Pallavi | Kamal Haasan | Lovle Telugu’

Moving forward, we found similar images from the event uploaded on the official X handle of Rajkumar Pariasamy wishing Sai Pallavi on her birthday. The images clarified that the cropped version of the image was shared as a wedding ceremony between the two actors.

In the original image, Sai Pallavi and Rajkumar have a camera action board of the film SK21 with ‘Poojai’ written on it.

Hence, we conclude that the viral image is not from the marriage. The image was actually taken on the sets of the upcoming movie ‘SK21’.
