Fact Check: Another mugshot of Trump goes viral; but Is this real?

Hyderabad: A mugshot of former US President Donald Trump is being widely shared on social media.

Former President Donald Trump is about to face jail time in Georgia case. The X is going crazy. #TrumpMugShot is still going strong.

After the conviction of the Georgia Election case, Trump surrendered at Fulton County jail. Trump has been charged with 13 counts, including an alleged violation of Georgia's racketeering law, making false statements and writings, and conspiring to commit forgery, regarding the alleged plot to replace duly elected presidential electors with new electors who would vote for him.

Does that mean, the most awaited mugshot has arrived or even this one is AI created? Several memes could also be seen.

NewsMeter found the claim to be True as the viral mugshot is real.

We started our investigation by performing a keyword search online and found a media report by CBS News carrying the same image with the title ' Trump surrenders at Fulton County jail in Georgia election case' dated 24th August 2023.

According to the report, the viral marks are real as it is a routine for defendants in Fulton County to be fingerprinted and have their eyes scanned for biometric identification.

Moreover, the viral mugshot has also been uploaded on Trump's X handle on 25 August 2023.

Not only this, but we also found a video report on the YouTube channel of Times Of India calling the release of Trump’s mugshot a Historic Moment.
