"CBSE Class 10 12 Exam: CBSE board term exams canceled," reads the headline of the article.
It has created confusion among students who are preparing for Term 2 exams scheduled to start on 26 April. It is believed that the exam for the current academic students is canceled.
FACT CHECK:
The article by News Next, dated 21 April, refers to the board's decision of discounting the two-term exam format for the next academic year. From the academic year 2022- 23, the board will follow the original format of conducting a single exam. Board exams for Class X and XII will not be split into two parts, unlike what is being followed for the current academic session.
The headline "CBSE Class 10 12 Exam: CBSE board term exams canceled'' refers to the board canceling the Term 1 and Term 2 Exams for the next academic year instead of holding only one at the end.
CBSE has not canceled the current academic year final exam. NewsMeter contacted a few local teachers. They said the exams will be conducted as scheduled. The schools have not received any notice of the cancellation of exams for the current academic year.
