Hyderabad: A dramatic video showing an ambush on a military convoy is going viral on social media, with users claiming it captures a recent Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) strike on the Pakistan Army.

An X user shared the video with the caption: ā€œBLA sends another ā€˜Peace Parcel’, #PakistanArmy’s unboxing gone wrong. 6th May 2025, 7 to 14 marched straight to 72 Hoors & Hoorified. Recently released video courtesy–BLA. (sic)ā€ (Archive)

The footage depicts a convoy of military vehicles in a desert-like area, with explosions and gunfire, suggesting an ambush.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The viral video does not show a BLA attack, but a military exercise by the Houthi group in Yemen, targeting Israeli sites and American and British forces.

We extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram post, dated October 15, 2024, which featured the same visuals. The caption hinted that the video is from Yemen. The date on the video read as ā€˜10.03.2024’, and we can also see the logo of Al Araby TV, a Middle Eastern news outlet.(Archive)

To dig deeper, we checked Al Araby TV’s YouTube channel and found the full version of the video uploaded on April 21, 2024. The Arabic title translates to: ā€œWatch: Houthi group conducts military manoeuvres simulating storming Israeli sites and targeting American and British forces.ā€

At the 3:13-minute timestamp, we found the exact visuals seen in the viral clip, confirming the source and context.

The viral video claiming to show a BLA ambush on the Pakistan Army is not from Balochistan. It shows a Houthi military drill in Yemen, simulating attacks on foreign forces. The claim is false.
