Fact Check
The claim is a hoax.
NewsMeter began its investigation by checking whether any such scheme was introduced by the central government. However, we did not find any such scheme on either the official website of the Government of India or any reports in the mainstream media.
We did not find the viral message to be authentic. It is because the government never shares any such initiatives via messages. We also searched on various social media handles of the government and other ministers but did not find any information related to the scheme.
We then clicked on the viral link. On clicking the link, we were directed to a blogging page, with a text that read, "Sorry, the blog you were looking for does not exist. However, the name pm-laptop--Vitran-2022 is available to register."
On clicking the Register pm-laptop--Vitran-2022 button, we were directed to a blogs page of the team.
Apart from this, the Press Information Bureau Fact Check Team had also stated that the viral message is a hoax. It has further requested people not to believe in any such messages that are being forwarded.
NewsMeter had also debunked similar viral messages earlier.
Hence, the viral message is a hoax. The central government has not announced any such scheme.
