Beware! Dmart is not distributing free gifts, don't open the link

The message is False.

News Meter checked if Dmart is celebrating its 20th anniversary in real. Based on our research, we found that Dmart was established in the year 2002 and it has been 19 years since it was established.

We also came across an article by dmartindia.com. "From the launch of its first store in Powai in 2002, Dmart has a well-established presence in 238 locations across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, NCR, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Rajasthan," it said.

Secondly, we found that even though the viral message had a link to www.dmartindia.com. However, when one clicked on the link it directed to third-party website used by hackers to corrupt the devices.

The website asked several personal questions to the social media users including names and Paytm numbers. The users were also asked to share the same message among their contacts.
