Fact Check

NewsMeter found the claim to be false as the viral giveaway is a scam.

First of all, Elon hosting such giveaways sound fishy. Still, we started our investigation by performing a keyword search on the web to search for any media report covering any such giveaway of Bitcoins sponsored by Musk.

Moreover, in an old tweet by Musk, he clearly states that he doesn’t have an account on Facebook.

We also scanned the official X handle of Elon Musk but couldn’t find any such Bitcoin giveaway contest as such a giveaway call would have pulled millions of crypto kings.

However, the post claims that the participant will get double of what they contribute. The motive behind this could be to lure users into making large deposits but never paying them the promised returns. This could be a big scam tagging Elon Musk’s name.

Hence, the viral post of the giveaway is a scam.
