Hyderabad: A video of BJP leader and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya is doing the rounds of social media with the claim that the people of Chattisgarh chanted "Bhupesh Bhagel Zindabad" during his speech.
Bhupesh Bhagel is Congress leader and Chattisgarh Chief Minister.
Surya, who is also the national president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM)—the youth wing of the BJP, was in Chhattisgarh on 25 August to take part in "Halla Bol Andolan" to protest against corruption and unemployment in the state.
Aman Dubey, the spokesperson of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress, tweeted the video and wrote that people raised "Bhupesh Bhagel Zindabad" slogans at Surya's rally.

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the video is edited and the claim is false.
We ran a keyword search and found a five-minute video posted by the verified Facebook page of Tejasvi Surya on 24 August 2022. The video contains similar visuals as the viral video, however, it doesn't contain the "Bhupesh Bhagel Zindabad" slogan.
After 2.15 minutes, Surya can be heard saying, "Bhupesh Bhagel is not the chief minister. He is the collection master of Sonia Gandhi." After that, people started shouting slogans and chanting that Bhupesh Bhagel is a collection master.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) posted the same five-minute video on Twitter. We checked this video and found that no "Zindabad" slogans were raised in support of Bhupesh Bhagel.
It is evident that the original video has been edited to include "Bhupesh Bhagel Zindabad" slogans to mislead the people. Hence, the claim is false.
