Fact:The claim is false. The video shows Govil criticising the opposition for ācreating a ruckusā in the parliament over the Bihar Voter List revision.
Hyderabad: A video showing Bharatiya Janata Party MP Arun Govil making critical remarks is going viral on social media.
In the video Aurn Govil is heard speaking in Hindi, saying, "Those who elected them and sent them here, what answer will they give to those people? Did their voters elect and send them here to do this? How shameful this is⦠And how much it costs to run the Parliament⦠they donāt even care about that expense. They donāt care about anything related to the country."
This video is clubbed with another video showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on an aircraft. The text on this viral video reads, āModi fled abroad as soon as Parliament session began⦠BJP MP Arun Govil got angryā.

NewsMeter found that the viral claim is false. Govil did not criticise PM Modi for travelling abroad while Parliament is in session, he directed the viral remarks at the opposition.
Using reverse image search we found an X video uploaded by IANS Hindi on July 23, 2025. The video shows visuals similar to the viral clip.

The BJP leader can be heard making the viral remarks at the 0:16 minute mark. Before the critical remarks, Govil said, āNo, this is a very bad attitude of the oppositionā. This hints at the possibility of the critical remarks being directed at the opposition.
Using keyword searches we found a YouTube video uploaded by NewsX Live on the same day with the title, āOpposition Shows Bad Attitude, Wasting Taxpayer Money: BJP MP Arun Govil on Parliament Ruckusā.
In the video, the viral video starts at the 0:34 minute mark. The Newsx Live anchor said that the BJP MP made these remarks after the āruckus created by the opposition MPsā and a protest was organised after a stalemate situation over the Bihar Voter List revision.
