Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The viral video is AI-generated and not of a real earthquake or bridge collapse.
We did not find any credible news reports of such an incident. A closer analysis of the visuals revealed multiple inconsistencies that point towards artificial creation:
The broken bridge edges and textures look unnaturally smooth and lack the irregular fractures seen in real collapses. The falling debris does not create realistic effects like splashes or natural scattering. The people’s movements are repetitive and uniform, unlike the chaotic reactions expected in real emergencies.
The overall scene, including lighting and shadows, lacks depth and realism.
We further analysed a keyframe using AI detection tools. Sightengine, Wasitai and Decopy AI, all flagged the content as AI-generated with high confidence.
The viral video does not show a real bridge collapse during an earthquake. It is AI-generated content created to look like a disaster. Therefore, the claim is false.
