Claim:The video shows Ram Mohan Naidu dancing while IndiGo flights are being grounded and passengers remain stranded.
Fact:The claim is misleading. The video is from a family wedding held in July 2025 in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.
Hyderabad: The ongoing IndiGo airline crisis triggered by severe pilot shortages and new crew rest regulations has resulted in over 4,500 flight cancellations in the past week, leaving thousands of passengers stranded at major airports across the country.
With long queues, overcrowded terminals and repeated delays, frustration continues to mount even as the DGCA steps in to cap fares and seek corrective action from the airline. IndiGo has said it expects operations to normalise by December 10.
Amid this chaos, a video of Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu dancing on a stage began circulating widely on social media.
In the clip, Naidu is seen performing energetically at what appears to be a celebratory gathering, while family members and guests cheer him on. Several users shared the video, claiming that the minister was enjoying himself instead of addressing the aviation crisis.
One X user shared the clip along with a recent image of people stranded at an airport. The caption read, “Flights delayed, terminals overcrowded, passengers helpless… and the Aviation Minister is dancing. This government has mastered one thing: entertainment over governance.”(Archive)

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is misleading. The viral clip has no connection to the current IndiGo crisis. It is an old video filmed months before the disruptions began.
A keyword search of phrases related to the clip led us to a video uploaded by ETV Andhra Pradesh on July 29. It was titled ‘Ram Mohan Naidu Dance in Wedding Reception.’
Other regional news reports, such as ABN Telugu, published on July 30, also covered the event, referring to it as ‘Central Minister Rammohan Naidu’s Dance Video’ from the Srikakulam wedding festivities.
When did the Indigo airline crisis begin?
The current cancellation crisis with the Indigo airline began months later — flyers at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata began to experience cancellation from December 2 — making it clear that the viral clip is being shared with a misleading context.
The viral video does not show Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu dancing during the IndiGo crisis. It is footage from a family wedding reception held in Srikakulam in July 2025, long before the flight disruptions began.
Hence, the claim is misleading.
