HYDERABAD: Several posts are circulating on social media claiming that the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Board Exams for Class 12 will be held from June 5, 2021.
"Big news from UP, UP 12th Board exams will be held from June 5," reads the English translation of the viral message.
FACT CHECK:
The claim is false as the UP education board has not issued any schedule for board exams.
NewsMeter checked the official website of UP Education (Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad) and did not find any recently updated datasheet or information regarding the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations.
According to reports by NDTV and India Today, the state government has postponed the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Class 10 and Class 12 exams due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Earlier, UPMSP said that the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will be held after May 20 and the new timetable will be decided in the first week of May, however, no dates have been announced yet.
Furthermore, the UPMSP issued a notice calling the viral message is fake. The notice informs the public that the news relating to exams being scheduled from June 5 to 25 is fake.
The official handle of Uttar Pradesh Fact Check also declared the message as fake.
Evidently, it is clear that there is no update on 12th class exams in UP. The viral message is fake.
