Claim: The video shows Salman Khan threatening Lawrence Bishnoi after the murder of his friend and NCP leader Baba Siddique.
Fact: The claim is false. The video shows Khan’s message to those violating Covid-19 lockdown regulations in 2020.

Hyderabad: It is being speculated that NCP leader Baba Siddique was murdered for his close ties with actor Salman Khan, who has been facing multiple threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over the past several years. The Mumbai Police have expanded their investigation, exploring several angles beyond the alleged involvement of the Bishnoi gang.

In this context, a video of Salman Khan is circulating on social media, claiming that he is threatening Lawrence Bishnoi after Siddiqui’s murder. In the video, Khan is heard saying, “I acknowledge your strength and bravery, but are you courageous enough to shoulder the coffins of your family members? Will you carry their bier? Do you have the heart for that? Why would you want to become Yamaraj or Malik-ul-Maut? Why would you want to be the one reciting Inna Lillahi or Ram Naam Satya Hai for your loved ones?”

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false as the video is clipped. The extended version shows a message to people violating the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.

Upon conducting a reverse image search of the video’s keyframes, we found the extended version published by Sansad TV on April 16, 2020, titled ‘Salman Khan’s message to people violating lockdown.’

At the beginning of the video, Khan expresses his anger over people attacking doctors and nurses who came to save lives and those fleeing hospitals after testing positive for COVID-19. He warns that if medical professionals and police had not taken action, the reckless behaviour of a few individuals could have endangered half of India’s population. Around the 1:35-minute mark, the viral clip surfaces, where Khan criticised those violating lockdown regulations, asking why they are so hell-bent on shouldering the coffins of their family members.

NDTV reported the video on April 16, 2020, in an article titled ‘Coronavirus: Salman Khan Delivers A Strong Message Against Those Who Pelted Stones On Doctors And Police.’

According to the report, “Salman Khan’s message came after reports of mob pelting stones at policemen and doctors in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad area, where a group of people attacked medical staff and police when they went to take away a person possibly infected with Covid-19.”

We also found a 10-minute video posted by Salman Khan on his Instagram account on April 15, 2020, with the text #StayHomeStaySafe and #IndiaFightsCorona. The viral clip appears at the end of the video.

Hence, we conclude that the video is old and does not show actor Salman Khan threatening Lawrence Bishnoi.
