Claim: The video shows Congress leaders celebrating despite the partyās humiliating defeat in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections on February 8.
Fact: The claim is false. The video shows Congress leaders dancing at the launch of their theme song for the Delhi elections on January 23.
Hyderabad: In the 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections held on February 5, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a significant victory, winning 48 out of 70 seats. This marks the BJPās return to power in Delhi after 27 years. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had been in power since 2015, won 22 seats. The Indian National Congress did not secure any seats for the third consecutive term.
In terms of vote share, the BJP garnered 45.56%, reflecting an increase of approximately 7 percentage points from the 38.51% it secured in the 2020 elections. The AAP's vote share decreased by nearly 10 percentage points, dropping from 53.57% in 2020 to 43.57% in 2025. Notably, the Congress party experienced a modest rise in its vote share, obtaining 6.34% compared to 4.3% in the previous election.

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false as the video predates the election result on February 8.
We noticed that both posts making the claim have reshared a January 24 post by former Congress leader Radhika Khera, who has switched to BJP. Khera had originally shared the video to mock the Congress party.

We also found the same visuals of Congress leaders dancing, published by NDTV on January 23. According to the channel, leaders including Pawan Khera, Bihar Pradesh Congress president Akhilesh Prasad Singh and spokesperson Ragini Nayak danced at the theme song launch. NDTV claimed this was the first time party leaders danced during an election theme song launch.
Therefore, we conclude that the video does not show Congress leaders dancing after facing the humiliating defeat in Delhi. The claim is false.
