Hyderabad: A video showing fried chicken moving and contorting on a platter is going viral on social media. It also shows a KFC bucket next to the chicken pieces. A verified Facebook user shared the video with the caption, āDo not eat from KFC again.ā

NewsMeter found that the video was created using Blender, a 3D graphics software.
We ran a keyword search and came across a report by Dexerto from November 15, 2019, titled āTikTok creeped out by viral video of moving fried chicken.ā
It said that the video was viral on TikTok and appears like a realistic-looking art. It also mentioned that the video was posted by artist Max Verehin, who describes himself as a ācursed art maker.ā
Taking a cue from this, we looked for Verehinās Instagram account and found that the video was posted on November 10, 2021.
In his Instagram bio, he describes himself as a 2D/3D artist. On skimming through his account, we found several weird images and reels posted.

Verehin, in an email conversation, confirmed NewsMeter that the viral video of the moving chicken is not real and was digitally created by him using Blender.
Hence, we conclude that the viral video of a moving fired chicken piece was digitally created.
