HYDERABAD: On June 1, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly created a buzz on social media after tweeting that he was going to "enter a new chapter of his life" pretty soon.
Netizens were quick to assume that the former skipper had stepped down from his position as President.
Posts claiming "Sourav Ganguly has resigned as BCCI president" began flooding the internet.

Speaking to news agency ANI, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that Ganguly will continue to be the President. He has "not resigned", Shah reportedly said.
Shah told ANI: "The rumors doing rounds about Sourav Ganguly stepping down from the post of BCCI President are factually incorrect. We have some exciting times in the form of media rights coming up and my colleagues and I are completely focused on the upcoming opportunity and safeguarding the interest of Indian cricket."
