Hyderabad: A video with the logo of NRQ news is circulating on social media with the claim that Telangana BJP leader T. Raja Singh's nephew has converted to Islam.
In the video, a woman, who identifies herself as Syeda Naheeda Quadri, can be heard saying that a video with a big claim about Raja Singh is doing the rounds of social media. Describing the claim, she says that Shiva Singh, the nephew of Raja Singh, has accepted Islam. She further adds that Shiva Singh has changed his name to Mohammad Siddique.
The video also shows a conversation between two men. One of the men can be heard saying that he is Shiva Singh, the nephew of Raja Singh, and has accepted Islam.
The video has gone viral as Raja Singh, the BJP MLA from Goshamahal, Hyderabad, was arrested for the second time on 25 August by the city police after getting bail for making controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammed. The MLA had violated the bail conditions imposed by the court. BJP has also suspended Singh from the party.

NewsMeter ran a keyword search and found an article published in The Hindu on 7 September. The Hindu reported that the man who claimed to be Raja Singh's nephew in the viral video has been booked.
After a complaint filed by P. Sunil Singh, who said that he is Singh's nephew and resident of Karwan, the cybercrime police filed a case under sections 153 (A) and 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code on 7 September.
The FIR quotes the complainant as saying that the two men talking in the video are Esa Misri and Mohammad Siddiqui.
We found a tweet by the verified handle of the Hyderabad city police calling the viral video fake and provocative. The tweet also contains a video in which one of the men identified as Esa Misri says that he was misinformed and Md. Siddiqui accepts that he lied about his conversion to Islam and his kinship with Raja Singh.
It is evident that the claims made in the viral video are false.
In 2019, a similar fake claim about Raja Singh's sister converting to Islam had gone viral. It was debunked.
