Did PM Modi inaugurate the same train twice?
Social media users have claimed that the train which was inaugurated by the PM in 2019 was again inaugurated by him in 2022.

Hyderabad: A set of two images are circulating on social media with the claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the same train twice. Social media users have claimed that the train which was inaugurated by the PM in 2019 was again inaugurated by him in 2022.
Rohan Gupta, the national spokesperson of the Congress party, shared the two images and made the same claim. He sarcastically wrote that the double-engine government is inaugurating the same work twice.

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search of both images and found that in the first image, Mr. Modi is inaugurating the Ahmedabad metro, and in the second image, he is inaugurating the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express.
On performing a reverse image search of the first picture, we found the same image used in an article by Outlook published on 4 March 2019. It said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a 6.5-km stretch of phase one of the Ahmedabad metro train service in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Mr. Modi also took a ride after inaugurating the metro service which connects Vastral to the Apparel park area in Ahmedabad.
The Economic Times, Deccan Herald, and The Times of India reported the event and published the same photo.
The reverse image search of the second image led us to an article in The Print published on 30 September 2022. It said the Prime Minster flagged off the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express. The article also reported that this is the third Vande Bharat train in the country which will run between Gandhinagar and Mumbai, connecting the state capitals of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The other two run between New Delhi and Varanasi and New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
It is evident that the Prime Minister inaugurated two different trains on two occasions. The first was the Ahmedabad metro and the second was the Vande Bharat Express. Hence, the claim is false.
