Hyderabad: A video of Cristiano Ronaldo saying "Inshallah" has gone viral on social media. It is being claimed that the footballer went live on Instagram after he joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

In the viral video, CR7 can be seen saying "Of course, of course, Khabib's going to win, my brother," before saying, "Inshallah."

The archived version of the post can be seen here.

Cristiano Ronaldo sealed a deal with Saudi's Al Nassr on 31 December 2022 till 2025 after losing the FIFA World Cup 2022. Although, the much-awaited debut of Cristiano Ronaldo is on hold until he serves his two-match suspension imposed by England's Football Association for improper and violent conduct after Manchester United's loss to Everton last season.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false as the viral video dates back to 2020.

We performed a reverse image search using the keyframes of the viral clip and found the same video posted on Instagram on 19 October 2022.

The longer version of the video was posted by an Instagram user. Here, we can clearly hear CR7 saying, "Of course, of course, Khabib is going to win, my brother."He then says "Inshallah."

We could not find the video on Ronaldo's social media pages.

Lastly, we found a report by Mirror that clears the air about the viral clip. The report, from 20 October 2022, mentions that Ronaldo declared his support for Russian MMA star Khabib Nurmagomedov ahead of his lightweight title defence against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

From this, it is evident that the viral Instagram live clip of CR7 is old. He did not post it after signing with Al Nassr.

Hence, the claim is false.
