Hyderabad: A post is going viral claiming that Shark Tank judge Vineeta Singh appeared in the blockbuster film ‘3 Idiots’ where she played Sharman Joshi’s mother.

NewsMeter found that the claim was false as the actress who played the role of Raju Rastogi’s mother in ‘3 Idiots’ is Amardeep Jha, not Vineeta Singh.

We started our investigation by checking the cast of ‘3 Idiots’ on IMDb. Here, we found a list of the cast along with their real names. On searching for who played the role of Mrs. Rastogi in the movie, we found that it was actress Amardeep Jha.

Amardeep Jha is one of the finest actresses of Indian cinema. Jha began her profession with the serial ‘Amanat’ in 1997. She made her film debut in 1998 where she acted as Jaya in ‘Dushman.’ She is known for her roles in movies like ‘3 Idiots,’ ‘Mimi,’ and ‘PK,’ etc.

Moreover, Sugar cosmetics team humorously bashed a similar meme that confused Vineeta Singh with Amardeep Jha.

It is evident that actor Amardeep Jha played Sharman Joshi’s mother role in the film ‘3 idiots’ and not Shark Vineeta Singh.

Hence, the claim is false.
